Each Spring the Molonglo Catchment Group and the Artists Society of Canberra
challenge artists to "capture the spirit of the Molonglo". The works are
exhibited for a week at Floriade, on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, iconic
heart of our nation's capital.
In 2009, the first prize of $1800, donated by ACTEW Corporation, was awarded
to Mark Redzic's work, "Fog over the Molonglo". Second prize of $500,
donated by the ACT NRM Council, was awarded to Garry Mayo's work, "Monaro
Woodland".
During that week, the Molonglo Catchment Group and other community groups
give presentations and provide information about management of our natural
resources.
